A poem by Erin Brady

Reflection

after Picasso’s Girl before a Mirror

pale lashes
in want of ink

spiralled ears
& twisted tongue

eyes not
containing oceans

freckles pasted
by the sun

lips too dry
and chapped to taste

                                               teeth of yellowed
                                               stone

roughened skin
& memory

papier-mâché
on bone

Erin Brady grew up between the UK and the US, and moved back to Europe after university. She currently lives in Barcelona, where she works as a freelance translator and runs a poetry appreciation group in her spare time.
